The future of AI is the future of the Cloud

Nothing can stop the Cloud!

As we all bounce back from the pandemic, we are not losing our focus on the key agent of change affecting the Cloud industry: artificial intelligence and its profound interrelation with Cloud computing is too important to ignore.

The Intelligent Cloud

The theme for CloudFest is The Intelligent Cloud. At CloudFest 2020 we explored hyperscale enablement, and now we explore how AI can maximize the interoperability that this allows – while also helping us better and more quickly understand a changing world.

The timing is right, as well: The overall cloud market is well over $250b and growing at 32% annually. AI is small but growing part of this, comprising $202.5 million in 2015 and forecast to reach $11.1 billion by 2024.

“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.”

Eliezer Yudkowsky, co-founder, Machine Intelligence Research Institute

Humans have always been fascinated by their own minds: the mysteries and potential waiting to be unlocked. We’ve been attempting to nail AI for over 60 years so far, but other technological building blocks had to first be arranged—each a milestone in its own right – in order to get us to where we are today, and where we’re poised to reach tomorrow. The amount of processing power and the speed of data throughput required for high-performance artificial intelligence place functional AI squarely in the Cloud’s wheelhouse.

At CloudFest Cloud Conference, executives, decision-makers, and innovators in the Cloud will gather to explore the practicalities of innovating, applying, and leveraging AI:

Cybersecurity

CloudFest will showcase the test attacks that get carried out against the DNS. In confronting internet-crippling level threats, we ask ourselves: What can take down the internet? Can AI stop it? Can we stop it without AI? We will also explore keeping bad actors out, immediately identifying and stopping abuse, and how the pandemic has shaped infrastructure-level threats.

AI Driven Uptime

CloudFest will explore how AI can help route around problems. Humans are not good at proactive predictive analysis for things like traffic spikes. It’s an inherent human limitation: nobody has the cognitive bandwidth to manage hyperscale uptime manually! While the internet was made for pandemic-level crises, how can AI help keep it useful and productive for global daily use under extreme load?

Sales and Marketing

CloudFest will shine a light on using AI for account-based marketing. CloudFest will show how ISVs can implement algorithms and AI agents to help their customers make better decisions. Pre-existing tools built on machine learning are already pretty good, but how can you position AI as a product component – and make it live up to the hype?

AI Reselling

AI enablement is quickly becoming table stakes as an inevitable step in the Cloud’s evolution. Very few companies can achieve this on their own, so you as a Service Provider fulfill a crucial role in the Cloud ecosystem by helping your customers evolve. This isn’t just about profit, but actively modernizing the internet in ways that are immediately helpful – and useful in the long-term. You can enable your customers to save huge sums of money with relatively small investments, and the economic effect is a big rock dropped into a small pond.

AI and The Human Brain

Can you think of some stressful times recently? Maybe one or two, right? Machines can actually teach us a lot about mindfulness. The general idea of meditation is processing the information thrown at you so you can deal with life. You’re essentially managing a DDOS attack on an hourly basis, and mindfulness helps you process everything the world throws at you. So we’re doing mindfulness meditation on AI, which itself is a sort of mindfulness exercise with huge deluges of data.

AI Meets Human Intelligence at CloudFest

The evolution of artificial intelligence will affect everyone in the world, directly or indirectly, whether they realize it or not. You can’t stop it – but you can help shape it. If your business works in the Cloud, join us at CloudFest, March at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany.

From scale and uptime to security and even morality, let’s explore AI as an industry, and figure out how to use these powerful tools to make the world a better place. Unearth new insights, meet new partners, and help determine the future of how we interact.
