Get to Know the WorldHostingDays Content Advisory Board

The 10-member Board brings a wide variety of knowledge and experience from across the industry and is chaired by i2Coalition Executive Director Christian Dawson.

WorldHostingDays is the global event series for the cloud services and internet infrastructure industries. Building these useful, engaging and inspiring events – as you can imagine – can be an enormous task.

To ensure we have great content, we’ve sought input from professionals in our community who we admire and respect – and now we’ve formalized this approach with a newly announced Content Advisory Board.

The 10-member Board brings a wide variety of knowledge and experience from across the industry and is chaired by i2Coalition Executive Director Christian Dawson.

The Board will ensure WHD events have the best speakers and other content that provides real value to our community of industry professionals.

Here’s a short introduction to our amazing Content Advisory Board:

Christian Dawson

Executive Director, i2Coalition and Co-Founder, Open-i Advisors

Christian Dawson is an industry leader who was president of web hosting provider ServInt before co-founding the Internet Infrastructure Coalition (i2Coalition) whose mission is to ensure that those who build the infrastructure of the Internet have a voice in all matters of public policy that affect them.

Christian is also Co-founder of Open-i Advisors Inc., a business intelligence consultancy designed to help Internet companies turn data into growth opportunity.

He is a staunch advocate for Internet freedom as a tool for social and economic growth by fostering the growth and expansion of the Internet economy. He’s the chair of WHD’s Content Advisory Board.


Liam Eagle

Research Manager, 451 Research

Liam Eagle is a Research Manager for VotE Hosting & Cloud. His research examines web and application hosting, managed hosting and cloud infrastructure.

Prior to joining 451 Research, Liam was Editor-in-Chief at the Web Host Industry Review, where he had a front-row seat for many of the transformative events that shaped the industry including innovations in virtualization and cloud technologies.


Chris Latterell

VP Marketing, Open-Xchange

Chris Latterell is responsible for worldwide marketing for Open-Xchange. Previously, Chris developed and led client relationships at frog design which included working with global clients in the IT, telco and automotive industries.

He was born and raised in the U.S., then entered the European stage of his career working with HP in strategic marketing campaigns across the EMEA region. He was also a director at OgilvyOne where he led 360-degree co-marketing campaigns for SAP and IBM worldwide.


Michele Neylon

CEO, Blacknight

Blacknight is an ICANN accredited domain registrar and hosting company based in Ireland and is 100% Irish owned.

Michele founded Blacknight in 2000 and has led the company since then. He’s been actively involved in internet policy development including being involved in working groups within the ICANN GNSO and is an advisor to the Eurid (the registry manager of the .eu and .ею), and the .ie Domain Registry. He’s also Registrar Liaison for the Secure Domain Foundation.


Kelly Hardy

Business Development Consultant, Domain .ME

Kelly Hardy is a domain industry veteran based in Los Angeles and the .ME business development consultant for North America. Kelly represents .ME at all of its U.S. domain and tech events. Kelly has a degree in comic books and has been a music journalist. She is passionate about personal branding online and – like a mad scientist – is always experimenting with new ways to use .ME domains.


Jan Löffler

CTO, Plesk

Since March 2016, Jan Löffler has been CTO of Plesk where he’s been driving technical innovation, developing Plesk roadmaps and leading all aspects of the company‘s technology strategy and vision.

He was previously Head of Platform at Zalando Platform-as-a-Service, and held key technical roles at 1&1 Internet.


Maarten ten Broeke

Founding Partner, Paal15

Maarten ten Broeke is founding partner of Paal15, a strategic positioning and go-to-market agency that helps tech companies reach their global ambitions. He also founded Cloudstanding, which helps companies successfully transition to cloud services through its highly selective network of partners.

Maarten is also a founder of Dutch Masters of Cloud, an initiative for sharing knowledge and stimulating cooperation between Dutch cloud companies to go together abroad and “conquer the world.”


Thomas Rickert

Director Names & Numbers, Eco – Verband der Internetwirtschaft

Thomas is Director of the Names and Numbers division at the Association of the German Internet, ECO. Thomas has been a member and participant within ECO since 1999, where he has held a number of key positions. Thomas has been a lawyer with Schollmeyer & Rickert since 1998 and is now managing partner.


Tobias Sattler

CIO, united-domains AG

Tobias Sattler is CIO at united-domains, a leading domain name registrar that manages registration for more than 700 domain extensions. He’s also Vice Chair and CTO of the ICANN Registrar Stakeholder Group, which monitors and reports on technical issues related to the domain name system.

He also organizes Domain-Stammtisch Munich, a casual domain name industry meeting that addresses current topics in the industry.
